I dreamed of a life where I could wake up excited about what I do, work from anywhere, and never feel stuck again. But, like most people, I followed the “typical” path—graduate, get a job, pay the bills, repeat. And while it looked fine on the outside, deep inside, I knew I was meant for something more.
I started in corporate sales, an introvert trying to play an extrovert’s game. Cold calls, meetings, targets—it was exhausting. While others were climbing the ladder and collecting awards, I was just surviving. Every morning felt like dragging a boulder uphill, forcing myself to do work that drained me.
Still, I convinced myself to keep going. After all, wasn’t this what “success” was supposed to look like? But it wasn’t success—it was settling.
Then came the day that changed everything: I was laid off. For a moment, it felt like the ground had vanished beneath me. But when I sat down to reflect, a powerful thought struck me: This isn’t the life I want anyway.
That moment wasn’t an end; it was a beginning. I started journaling, trying to uncover what I truly wanted. Page after page, the answer became clear: I needed to find a path that aligned with my passions and strengths.
I dove into the internet, searching for skills I could learn and ways to work on my own terms. That’s when I discovered digital marketing. It was creative, dynamic, and full of opportunities—and best of all, it gave me the freedom to work from anywhere, anytime.
I started taking courses and learning everything I could. Writing, especially, became my favorite part of the process. As an introvert, it felt amazing to express myself through words, working in silence while creating something meaningful. For the first time in years, I felt alive.
